Ankara / Kente/ Kitenge Swag

DAY 4 IN IBIZA SAN ANTONIO

"Some people would rather have something than have nothing at all ... but the truth is, to have something halfway is harder than having nothing at all."

So on the third day I decided to wear my ankara crop top and skirt! I love Africa and everything about it! So I had to rock this out!Its safe to say that countless celebrities such as Draya, Beyonce,Solange, Gweb Stefani, Rachel Bilson , Oluchi and many other fashionistas have been bitten by the African wax fever known as (Ankara).

 ANKARA
Ankara is a vibrant material mostly made up of 100 percent cotton or cotton poly material. Originally the wax resist dyed fabrics were exported to the Gold Coast and spread over West Africa into Central Africa and are now largely produced in Nigeria .

KITENGE / CHITENGE
Kitenge or chitenge is an African garments similar to Ankara, often worn by women . Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Sudan are some of the African countries where kitenge is worn. In Malawi, Namibia and Zambia Kitenge is known as Chitenge.
  KENTE
(The best known out of all African textiles.)
Kente cloth, known as nwentoma in Akan. It  is a type of silk and cotton fabric made of interwoven cloth strips and is native to the Akan  ethnic group of South Ghana. Kente comes from the word kenten, which means basket. Kente is identified by its dazzling, multicolored patterns of bright colors, geometric shapes, and bold designs.
